NOUNS

INTRODUCTION

Through this new activity you will be able to read an interesting short story in order to learn new words known as nouns and be able to identify common and proper nouns as well as illustrate using images from google.

TASK

Read the short story “ High and Lifted Up” by Mike Krath. Find 15 common nouns and 15 proper nouns. Find one image to illustrate each noun.

Process

Copy and paste the words and their illustrations in a Word Document. Print the document and Bring it to class to show and tell your findings.

COMMON AND PROPER NOUNS

COMMON AND PROPER NOUNS


Common nouns do not name a specific person, place, thing or idea. Common nouns are not capitalized unless they are at the beginning of a sentence or part of a title.


Proper nouns are words that name a specific person, place, thing or idea. Proper nouns are capitalized so the reader can tell them apart from common nouns.
